The Enterprise: Bolt
Underwears
"You
can get imported lingerie in Nigeria.
You
can get your size no matter what."
Bolt Underwears: Bolt Underwears is a lingerie business. Our lingerie business is not only about brassieres
and panties only, but about undergarments (for women, men and children) in
general. For men, we have boxers, t-shirts
and singlet. For children we have boxers, pajamas, sleep wear, socks and so
many. We are all about anything you wear
underneath.
Esther: And of course, they
are top quality and very original.
Bolt Underwears: Yes they are. We get our goods from the
UK and USA. We have brands like secret possession, Marks and Spencer, Lasenza
and many more. Our prices are quite competitive.
Esther: Could you please emphasize on the
difference between foreign underwear and the regular ones sold in the local
market?
Bolt Underwear: Those N150, N100 naira under wears are
mostly china and they don’t last. It is also not advisable at all for a lady to
buy used underwear (popularly called OK).
Esther: That’s a No-No! You never can
tell if the Oyinbo who wore it had a disease.
Bolt Underwear: There is a huge difference. If you buy original
imported under wear, it would really last longer. The feel is different. We
also advise women to know their sizes before going out to buy underwear. Do not
test underwear because you never know what the person who had worn them before
(all the in the name of testing) carry. We do not allow testing in our shop,
and we don’t collect refunds, though we give preference to some people for
trial especially our big breasted customers. We have sample wears that we have
separated for testing in this case. This is because it is hard to get their
accurate size even after measurement.
Esther: Do you have bras for very busty
women? I ask because I have seen very busty women in this Lagos and I’ve always
wondered if they will ever get their bra size especially here in Nigeria.
Bolt Underwear: We have all sizes; We have big sizes up
to J, K, L, and M. I just found out there is M, 44, 44k and A, B, C, D up to K.
These are big sizes. These bras will help package women with big bust really
well. You know, how you wear your upper under wear matters. Wearing the right
upper under wear brings fitting to what you are wearing. You will feel and look
good. It will make you stand out. Sometimes you see busted women wear shirt and
their chest is down, it’s because they are not wearing a good bra.
Esther: Yes! I’ve noticed quite a number
of busty women wear bras that let their breasts fall and I’ve always wondered
why. I believe this makes them look old and unattractive. I’ve come to believe they do it on purpose,
isn’t it?
Bolt Underwears:
I don’t think it is on purpose. Some of them do not know. Some of them
say they don’t want to wear padded bra but we have non-padded bra that will
package a busty woman really well and her frontal will stay well in place. You
really can’t hide what God has given you.
I advise women
who are busty to come to Bolts underwear and we will help get what’s suitable
for you. Wearing the right lingerie will help you feel good and stand you out.
It will give you confidence when you dress. You will feel comfortable.
Esther: What do you think is the average Nigerian
woman’s attitude towards her underwear?
Bolt Underwears: The attitude of the average Nigerian
woman towards how her underwear looks is lackadaisical. Cleanliness is key and
this matters to their partners a lot.
Quality is also equally important. You spend more when you buy low
quality underwear. Good quality bra will
last longer while the low quality ones (china) never do.
Esther: How long have you been into the
business and why lingerie?
Bolt Underwears: I have been into the business since
2012. I love lingerie and I wanted to
make a statement that says when you come into the Bolt Underwears shop you
will be able to get underwear for the whole family.
Esther: Do give a final word.
Bolt Underwear: Keep clean. Get good lingerie, it will give
you confidence.
